Muteesa II Monument Beautification Project

Project Overview

The Beautification of Muteesa II Monument project represents Multax's commitment to enhancing Uganda's cultural landmarks through sustainable landscaping and urban design. As part of our contract with Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA), we transformed this important historical site into a vibrant public space that honors Uganda's heritage while meeting modern aesthetic and environmental standards.

  • Design and installation of native plant gardens around the monument
  • Creation of pedestrian-friendly walkways and viewing areas
  • Installation of sustainable irrigation systems
  • Implementation of low-maintenance, drought-resistant landscaping
  • Preservation and enhancement of existing historical elements

Project Execution

As a company with over 8 years of experience in construction and landscaping projects across Uganda, Multax brought our signature approach to this important civic project:

  • Cultural Sensitivity: Our designs respected the historical significance of the monument while enhancing its visual appeal
  • Sustainability: We used native plants and water-efficient systems in line with our corporate sustainability commitments
  • Community Engagement: Local artisans and materials were incorporated where possible
  • Quality Assurance: Our team of permanent staff (25+) and contract personnel (70+) ensured high standards throughout

Project Impact

This project aligns with Multax's vision of "building for a better society" and contributes to several United Nations Sustainable Development Goals that we support:

  • SDG 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities - creating inclusive, safe public spaces
  • SDG 15: Life on Land - using native plants to support local ecosystems
  • SDG 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth - employing local workers and artisans

The completed project has become a model for other public space improvements in Kampala, demonstrating how historical preservation and modern urban design can work together harmoniously.
