Lugogo Bypass Drainage Construction Project

Project Overview

The Construction of Drains along Lugogo Bypass and Katale Roadside represents Multax's commitment to improving urban infrastructure and flood prevention in Kampala. As part of our contract with Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA), we are implementing a comprehensive drainage solution to address water management challenges in this high-traffic area.

  • Design and construction of reinforced concrete drainage channels
  • Installation of culverts and connecting drainage systems
  • Roadside grading and slope stabilization
  • Implementation of erosion control measures
  • Integration with existing urban infrastructure

Project Execution

With our extensive experience in civil engineering projects across Uganda, Multax is applying specialized techniques to this critical infrastructure project:

  • Technical Expertise: Our engineering team designed drainage systems capable of handling Kampala's heavy rainfall patterns
  • Quality Materials: We use durable, locally-sourced materials that meet KCCA specifications
  • Minimal Disruption: Careful phasing maintains traffic flow during construction
  • Safety Focus: Our team of 50+ skilled workers follows strict safety protocols in this high-traffic zone

Project Impact

This project supports Multax's mission of "building resilient infrastructure" and contributes to several United Nations Sustainable Development Goals:

  • SDG 9: Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure - building quality, reliable infrastructure
  • SDG 11: Sustainable Cities - improving urban water management systems
  • SDG 13: Climate Action - mitigating flood risks from extreme weather events

Upon completion, the new drainage system will significantly reduce flooding along Lugogo Bypass, protecting the road infrastructure and improving traffic flow during rainy seasons.
